How did I get here

To open the blog, it might be pleasing to the reader to know some things that have occurred lately.

I managed to graduate in fall 2008 finally, with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, from the Helsinki School of Economics. It took a while to graduate as I was quite heavily engaged in the Student Union activities, namely at KY. As my graduation became imminent, the community that I had given so much during my study years was threatened by the consequences of a University Law Reform that basically was about to merge it with two different communities. So the past couple of years I was working as a project manager in at KY to make sure that the KY spirit and traditions would live long and prosper. The legality of those actions taken were put to test even in a big law suit but luckily everything turned out ok.

Last fall I got a chance to join a company that was started out by some friends of mine and after six months of working there I’m now a partner in the firm Creative Agency Bolder Helsinki Ltd. I’m responsible for sales, project scheduling and financial matters. As we are a company that likes be very agile in its business, it means that I had to increase my learning capability a lot right away. And the issues I had and have to deal with are the main inspiration to write this blog -maybe to give hints or encouragement to someone with similar challenges or maybe just to organize my own thoughts somehow.

I’ll try to keep the posts short and not be too critical of them. That too will be a learning experience for me.

Grabbin’ the bull by the horns, then.

It occurred to me that someone might want to read what the entrepreneurial life is like and what kind of challenges our company/I face in it. So far it has required a lot of learning and doing things from the scratch -altogether a great experience but also showed how little did I know about the real entrepreneurial life. I decided to share learnings and other encounters on the way. While in the wait for the first real issue, go and admire the Bolder Helsinki website -and, since I am a salesman, our recent work. More to come.

So, starting to lay the bricks on the road to success. I’m excited!
